I am posting these almost a month after I have completed them. I was inspired to create these after watching the video: How to draw MANDALA ART for beginners by Vijayta Sharma. What I like about the video is how simple she has used simple shapes to create something really beautiful. Of course, I believe there is no compulsion to only use the mentioned shapes but it was a good way to start.
I was also surprised that they came out so well, especially the first one! I did not realize but after completing them I can easily say it was a therapeutic experience. Just doing the same things over and over again and letting the mind wander and flow between these shapes was a beautiful experience. They were not at all difficult drawings but very time-consuming ones. I was just listening to music on the side and just drew them in 3-4 hours of time for each one. I guess a lesson to share after doing them is do things bit by bit, you never know how beautiful they turn out to be in the complete picture, specifically to point out big flower like petals in the first one, I never anticipated they will just give a different perspective to my drawing but they did and I am very happy about it.
I have only used a normal Faber Castell permanent market to create these but I am really thinking of upgrading my pen set.
I hope to continue to draw over many weekends depending on how much time I will get from my learning schedule.
